Jessica Phoenix Shines at Ocala International CCI4*-S: Places 1st and 3rd

Jessica Phoenix had a successful weekend at the Ocala International CCI4*-S, finishing in 1st and 3rd place with her Thoroughbred geldings Aeronautics and Wabbit. The challenging cross country course designed by Jay Hambly caused shake-ups in the leaderboard, with no horses finishing double clear. Phoenix was especially pleased with her horses’ performances and praised the course design and footing preparation.

In the CCI3*-L division, Rebecca Brown and her Irish Sporthorse gelding Fernhill Quite Frankly secured the win with a clear round in show jumping. Brown has spent years working on Frank’s show jumping skills, with guidance from Karen O’Connor, and their dedication paid off this weekend. Canadian rider Lisa Marie Fergusson and her own Irish Sporthorse gelding Trinity ThankQ finished in 2nd place, while Buck Davidson and True Belief rounded out the podium in 3rd place.

Other Canadian riders also had impressive finishes at the event, including Chelsea Lowe, Kendal Lehari, Colleen Loach, Kyle Carter, Melissa Boutin, Megane Sauve, Declan Bast, and Madeleine Scott in various divisions. Overall, it was a successful weekend for Canadian riders at the Ocala International competition.
