Jennie Brannigan’s Emotional Withdrawal at Defender Kentucky 2025

During Defender Kentucky week, 35 CCI5* entries presented to the Ground Jury, with Jennie Brannigan and Twilightslastgleam facing unfortunate drama when the 15-year-old Thoroughbred gelding was not accepted forward to competition. Despite the emotional situation, Jennie prioritized her horse’s well-being and expressed gratitude for the support of experienced owners who have always put the horse’s needs first.

Boyd Martin and Luke 140 were among the 34 horses accepted to move on to dressage starting the following afternoon, with the rest of the inspection proceeding without any drama. Ride times for dressage for both the 4 and 5 were available, and Tilly Berendt’s Golden Chinch Awards were set to be announced later on.

Defender Kentucky coverage is supported by Kentucky Performance Products, offering science-backed nutritional support products. The event’s official schedule, entries, ride times, and other information can be found on the website, with live streaming available for those unable to attend in person.
