Jefferson County 4-H Horse Show Highlights Equestrian Talent from Two Counties

The annual Jefferson County 4-H Horse Show took place at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, with 18 members from Jefferson County and 11 from Clearfield County showcasing their equestrian skills. Winners received trophies, ribbons, and neck ribbons based on their placings in various categories, with qualifying winners moving on to the District VIII Horse Show in Centre Hall. The event featured classes for general and beginner riders, as well as those with disabilities.

Participants competed in a variety of classes, including English and Western grooming and showmanship, beginner English and Western horsemanship, driving/trail classes, Western horsemanship, ranch pleasure, and gymkhana classes such as pole bending, barrel racing, and raised box keyhole. Riders of all ages and skill levels were able to showcase their abilities in different disciplines, with Jefferson County members dominating many of the categories. The event provided an opportunity for equestrians to demonstrate their talents and bond over their shared love of horses.

Notable winners included Hunter Brown in Equestrians with Disabilities Grooming and Showmanship, Mackenzi Kanouff in Beginner English Pleasure and Equitation, and Calista Reitz in various Mini Horse and Pleasure Pony classes. The competition showcased the dedication and talent of the participants, as well as the supportive community of equestrians in Jefferson and Clearfield Counties.
