Horse Rescued by Firefighters in Lampeter Using Specialized Equipment

On Sunday, February 2, firefighters from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to rescue a male horse stuck on its back in a ditch in Cwmann, Lampeter. The horse, around 30 hands high, was successfully freed using strops, a slide, hooks, and farm machinery. The rescue operation lasted from 3.58pm to 5.45pm when the teams left the scene.

After being rescued, the horse was taken to its stable where a veterinarian provided care. Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service has specialist animal rescue teams stationed at various fire stations equipped with special equipment for animal rescues. This successful rescue highlights the importance of having trained professionals and specialized equipment for animal rescue operations.
