Heartwarming Rescue: Man and Horse Saved from Floodwaters in Tambo, Queensland

During the floods in western Queensland, a man was trapped by flash floods while travelling to Toowoomba for urgent surgery on his injured horse. The driver and his horse float were swept off the road by the flooded creek, leaving him stranded on the roof of his 4WD. The SES deployed a boat to rescue both the man and his horse safely, with no injuries.

The driver was stuck about 3km west of Tambo, a tiny country town known for its Tambo Teddies. Many rural Queensland towns are cut off due to severe flooding, with roads impassable and communities isolated. Inspector Chris Smith praised the rescue and urged caution during severe weather, emphasizing the importance of seeking alternate routes to avoid risking lives.

The rescue was a heartening moment amidst the devastation caused by the floods in western Queensland. The man and his horse were safely rescued by the SES, highlighting the importance of being cautious during severe weather events to prevent unnecessary risks and potential harm to oneself and emergency services.
