Hannah Bressler Jaques and her horse Jim won the Lovsta Future Challenge qualifier at the 2025 CDI-W Wellington, with a score of 70.353%. The Lovsta Future Challenge mimics the German Louisdor Cup and is sponsored by Lovsta Stuteri. The top two finishers of each of the five qualifiers are eligible to compete in the final at the end of March, with $15,000 in prize money up for grabs.
James Irwin and Flirtfaktor S placed second in the qualifier with a score of 67.059%, earning them a ticket to the finals. Hope Cooper and Destar came in third with a score of 65.912%. Other competitors in the class included Micaela Mabragana on Marlango PH, Tiago Ernesto on Jack Daniels, and Ashley Marascalco on Dracarys. Austin Webster presented two horses, Guildenstern Sol and Jackpot Zee T, both experiencing tension and being hand-held during the test. Taryn Anderson closed the ranks with Furst Romanov.
Hannah Bressler Jaques and Jim’s journey to success was not without challenges, as Jim proved to be a handful as a young horse, causing damage and requiring expensive medical treatment. Despite these obstacles, they have achieved success in dressage, moving to Wellington, Florida to train with Lars Petersen. The Lovsta Future Challenge provides an opportunity for developing Grand Prix horses to compete at the international level and gain valuable experience in the arena at Global dressage Festival.
