GW’s Girl Emerges as Favorite in Rescheduled 2025 Beaumont Stakes at Keeneland

The Grade 2, $400,000 Beaumont Stakes at Keeneland saw G W’s Girl become the favorite after Éclatant was scratched. G W’s Girl, a two-time stakes winner, was established as a 2-1 choice on the morning line and will be ridden by José Ortiz in her first graded company race. The race, run over seven furlongs on the main track, will take place on Sunday as part of the rescheduled opening day at Keeneland.

Brad Cox, the trainer of Éclatant, instead sent out Stunner for the Beaumont Stakes. Stunner, owned by LNJ Foxwoods and Church Street stable, was the Forward Gal runner-up and will be ridden by Flavien Prat. The Keeneland spring season was originally scheduled to begin on Friday but was postponed due to a storm causing widespread flooding in Kentucky. The Ashland Stakes (G1) was rescheduled for Monday, and the Blue Grass (G1) program will be run on Tuesday.

The Beaumont Stakes features a field of five 3-year-old fillies, with G W’s Girl as the morning-line favorite. The race will be the ninth of 10 races on Sunday, with a post time of 5:16 p.m. EDT. G W’s Girl, a $130,000 Munnings filly owned by Mag Racing, has won two black-type, six-furlong stakes at Oaklawn this winter. Brad Cox’s Stunner will also be competing in the race, with the original favorite Éclatant being scratched.
