Guido Grimaldi Secures First-Ever Grand Prix Win at Al Shira’aa Horse Show 2025

The Al Shira’aa Horse Show 2025 concluded with the CSI4*-W 1.55m FEI Jumping World Cup Grand Prix, where Guido Grimaldi from Italy secured his first-ever Grand Prix win aboard Gentleman. Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi of the host nation came in second, and Germany’s Christian Ahlmann settled for third place. Grimaldi expressed his gratitude for the win and credited his team for their support and preparation.

The challenging 1.55m track designed by Elio Travagliati saw only five riders jump clear in the first round, with 11 advancing to the jump-off. Grimaldi’s double clear in 39.67 seconds secured his victory, while Al Muhairi and Ahlmann also delivered impressive performances. Longines, the event sponsor, praised the riders and expressed excitement for the upcoming qualifiers leading to the final in Basel, Switzerland.

The Al Shira’aa Tour, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will continue through 2025 with new locations in Italy and Germany, in addition to returning venues in the United Kingdom. The tour aims to support legacy shows and promote an equitable playing field for all participants, reflecting Al Shira’aa’s commitment to preserving the sport’s rich history.
