The city of Fort Worth has officially opened the newly renovated Sheep & Swine Barns and a new show arena in preparation for the 2025 Fort Worth Stock Show & rodeo. The $40 million transformation has turned the livestock barns into a modern facility that can accommodate various events, including receptions, banquets, trade shows, and livestock shows. The project is a reflection of the private/public partnership between the city and the Stock Show & rodeo.
This project is part of a four-phase plan to renovate the original livestock facilities constructed at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in 1948. The upgrades include increased ventilation and insulation, improved lighting, electrical upgrades, a new show arena, enhanced livestock handling facilities, new stalling capacity for horses, additional warm-up arena options for horse exhibitors, additional RV hookups, and improved pedestrian access between the center and Dickies arena. The renovations were funded by both the city of Fort Worth and the stock show.
The 2025 Fort Worth Stock Show & rodeo will run from Jan. 17 through Feb. 8, featuring the newly renovated Sheep & Swine Barns and show arena. The project was designed by Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford, in partnership with GHC Architects, and is a significant step towards providing a world-class facility for the Stock Show & rodeo and its attendees.
