The U.S. Equestrian Federation has appointed Leslie Law as the chef d’equipe and high performance manager for the Defender U.S. Eventing Team, with Karyn Shuter taking on the role of U.S. eventing high performance advisor. Both will begin their roles immediately, with Law having previously served as the USEF eventing development coach for over a decade.
Law, an individual Olympic gold and team silver medalist, expressed his honor at being chosen for the position and is confident in the new structure. Shuter, the new high performance advisor, is excited to contribute to the U.S. eventing team and help improve performance at international and championship levels. They will work together to develop a long-term strategy for success.
The USEF CEO Bill Moroney expressed satisfaction with the athlete engagement in the selection process and stated that Law and Shuter will report to managing director of eventing, Amber Braun. Christina Vaughn will transition into the role of USEF eventing elite program director and team leader. The goal is to build sustained success and a culture of excellence leading into the LA 2028 Games and beyond.
