Former Newshub reporter Alexa Cook has found a silver lining in redundancy by moving back home to live with her family in Hawke’s Bay. She is excited to combine her passion for news with her love for riding her horse on the family farm, after years of working in broadcasting in various locations around the world.
Alexa is thrilled to be back at RNZ as the Hawke’s Bay/Gisborne regional reporter, where she can focus on radio reporting and presenting. She is grateful for the support of her husband, who transferred his job to Napier to be with her, and is enjoying the work-life balance that comes with living in the countryside.
While Alexa misses the team dynamic of TV reporting, she is looking forward to telling important stories in the Hawke’s Bay region and being a voice for those who need it. She is excited for the opportunities that come with reporting for RNZ and is grateful for the chance to combine her country roots with her career in journalism.
