Bodycam footage shows Florida police on horseback chasing a 25-year-old drug suspect, Jordan Wilson, who tried to flee after handing off illegal drugs. The chase, involving mounted officers on horses named Nash, Jaxx, Judge, and Duke, began with Wilson running and nearly being hit by a minivan as he crossed a street. The pursuit continued for a quarter-mile, with officers warning Wilson to stop running and encouraging their horses to intensify the chase.
Officer Cassie Haire on horseback shouts at Wilson to stop running, while Officer Zackary Maryland urges his horse, Jaxx, to “run him over.” Wilson eventually surrenders to Officer Maryland, who tells him that running will only result in going to jail tired. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office praised the horses for ensuring that justice was the main priority during the chase.
Wilson, who was charged with resisting officers, was released from jail the following day. The police department emphasized that criminals cannot hide from their “horsepower” and highlighted Nash as the star of the video, while also giving credit to the other horses involved in the pursuit.
