Five Go West Again: Equestrians Embark on Six-Day Horse Riding Challenge to Support Highland Hospice

A group of five horseback riders will be embarking on a six-day journey from Dores to Glenelg in April 2025 to raise funds for Highland Hospice. The riders will be using off-road tracks and quiet single-track roads, interacting with communities along the way. The trek will culminate in a family ceilidh in Glenelg and Arnisdale Village Hall.

The riders, led by Candy Cameron, will be hosting quiz nights in various locations along their route to engage with local communities and raise additional funds for Highland Hospice. After the trek, they will be hosting a special event on Loch Ness with music and storytelling, as well as offering visits to Aldourie Castle Gardens in June. The team is encouraging others to support their fundraising efforts.

Highland Hospice fundraiser Will Macrae expressed gratitude for the team’s continued support and highlighted the success of last year’s challenge. He encouraged others to get involved by participating in quiz nights, booking the Jacobite Cruise, or visiting Aldourie Castle Gardens. Donations to support the Five Go West team can be made at bit.ly/5gowestagain.
