Firefighters Rescue Small Dog from Roof of Two-and-a-Half Story House in Hartford

Hartford firefighters rescued a small dog from the roof of a two-and-a-half story house after receiving a report of a dog on the roof. The dog had climbed onto the main roof of the house after going through an open attic window onto the porch roof. Firefighters used a ladder truck to extend a bucket to the roof and bring the dog down safely.

Mario Oquendo, Jr., Hartford Fire Department district chief and public information officer, praised the dog’s bravery and comfortability on the roof, jokingly suggesting that he may have to offer the puppy a job. The rescue took place at 3:47 p.m. on New Park Avenue in Hartford, Connecticut.
