Former equitation rider Tara Korde found her “horse of a lifetime,” In The Nick Of Time, at a casual alumni mixer. Despite initial doubts due to back surgery, Korde connected with the Friesian cross horse through Mount Holyoke’s dressage coach, Jutta Lee. Nick had a successful career before Korde, competing through Prix St. Georges and developing solid piaffe and passage.
Korde and Nick made their official debut at first level in 2022, quickly qualifying for the GAIG/USDF Region 8 Championships and impressing with their performance despite a humorous mishap. The pair continued to excel, qualifying for the U.S. dressage Finals in Kentucky. Despite setbacks in 2023 due to medical issues, they still qualified for championships and continued to impress with Nick’s steady performance.
In 2024, Korde and Nick debuted a successful musical freestyle routine, scoring 76.39% and heading to dressage Finals for the third year in a row. Although a mishap occurred during the freestyle championship class, Korde remains grateful for the journey with Nick and the support of her trainers and barn community. She looks forward to the future with her beloved horse.
