Eye-Witness Account of the 2025 Wellington Dressage Season

The author spent the first week of the 2025 season in Wellington, Florida, photographing 136 horses in the international and national rings. The weather was pleasant, with temperatures reaching 29 degrees Celsius. The national arena offered a variety of horses, levels, and riders, from amateurs to professionals, showcasing a range of skills and abilities.

Several top American riders, such as Kasey Perry-Glass and Katherine Bateson-Chandler, were preparing their horses for upcoming CDI competitions. Canadian Olympian Chris von Martels showed improvement with Londoncrown, a horse he recently took over the ride on. Natalie Pai made her national Grand Prix debut with Mister-C, a horse she acquired from Europe in 2022.

The author also noted the absence of last year’s Lovsta class winner, Kaliber, and highlighted the potential of the liver chestnut Heron under rider Adam Steffens. Overall, the author captured moments that caught their eye at the event and shared them in an image gallery.
