Exciting News in Albany: 4-H Horse Club Forming and Ridgewood Home Wins Award

The Dougherty County 4-H Horse Club is being formed to educate youths on horses, including health, riding, and showing. The club aims to help fulfill state requirements for those interested in participating in the 4H State Horse Show. Young people from surrounding counties without equine programs are also welcome to join, with all youths aged 9-19, including public, private, and homeschoolers, invited to attend the meet-and-greet on Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in downtown Albany.

The Albany Daffodil Garden Club has selected the home of John and Vicki Inman on Ridgewood Lane as the November Yard of the Month winner. The home is praised for its beautiful fall decorations, foundation plantings, and blooming flowers throughout the property. The club selects a different Albany residence each month for the award, with nominations accepted by calling (229) 436-6888.

For those interested in joining the Dougherty County 4-H Horse Club, the youth development person within the extension office, Jessica Dorsey, can be contacted at (229) 436-7216. Additional contacts for the horse club include Kilena Underwood at (229) 869-7210 and Vicki Harris at (229) 255-9855. Non-members of 4-H can sign up at the meet-and-greet event on Dec. 1.
