Excitement Builds for National Lotteries Control Board Champagne Stakes at Santa Rosa Park

The 2025 racing season at Santa Rosa Park in Arima will feature 36 horses on April 21, with the National Lotteries Control Board Champagne Stakes being the main event for horses three years old and over traveling 1,600 meters on the turf course. The race has attracted a field of five starters, including four American-bred horses like The Goddess Nike, who recently won a two-horse race after finishing down the field in Barbados.
Three Trinidad horses that competed in Barbados and won four races are expected to return on April 15, including The Goddess Nike, Hello World, and Sneaky Cheeky. Despite concerns about the local racing industry, there is optimism about the future of the breeding industry in Trinidad and Tobago.
The five-race holiday card at Santa Rosa Park will begin at 1:30 pm, showcasing the talent of both local and American-bred horses in the racing season.
