Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Emirates Arabian Horses Cup – Endurance race is set to take place at the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba. This race, the first of its kind dedicated to Arabian horses, is organized by the Emirates Arabian Horse Society and the Emirates International Endurance Village in cooperation with the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation. The race is divided into 4 stages, with varying distances and mandatory rest periods.
Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the EAHS, expressed gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his support in organizing an endurance race specifically for Arabian horses. This initiative reflects Sheikh Mansour’s continuous interest in purebred Arabian horses and his efforts to elevate their status in international events. The race aims to highlight the qualities of Arabian horses such as strength, endurance, and ability to run long distances, ultimately encouraging the preservation of rare breeds and expanding their presence worldwide.
The veterinary examination of participating horses was conducted to ensure they meet the race requirements, including being 6 years or older with a maximum pulse of 65 beats per minute. The initiative is seen as a way to open new horizons for Arabian horse owners, breeders, and trainers, fostering honest competition and innovation in the field while enhancing the UAE’s position in developing equestrian activities.
