Conor Swail and One Edition won the $117,000 Premier Equestrian CSI3* Grand Prix at the Desert International Horse Park, with Swail describing the victory as a surprise. The 10-year-old mare, usually competed by James Chawke, is owned by Vanessa Mannix and has been part of their team for a few years. Swail stepped in to ride her while Chawke is out with an injury.
In the jump-off, Swail and One Edition beat the time set by Canada’s Ali Ramsay and Conrado 12 to take the win in 39.24 seconds. Ramsay finished in second place, while the USA’s Paris Sellon took third place. Swail praised One Edition’s performance in the first round and noted that she was quick in the jump-off, requiring less leg and better timing.
Swail expressed his surprise at the win and praised One Edition’s performance, noting that she was very good in the jump-off and did everything she was supposed to do. He emphasized the mare’s carefulness and quality, which helped them secure the victory in the Desert Circuit 6 featured event.
