Citizen Bull, the Eclipse Award-winning 2-year-old male of 2024, is set to kick off his 3-year-old campaign in the $200,000 Robert B. Lewis Stakes at Santa Anita Park on Feb. 1. The race is a qualifying event for the Kentucky Derby, with Citizen Bull currently ranked at the top of the Kentucky Derby Leaderboard with 40 points.
Citizen Bull’s stablemates, Madaket Road and Rodriguez, are also competing in the Robert B. Lewis Stakes in an effort to climb the Kentucky Derby Leaderboard. The partnership that owns all three horses focuses on developing top-class stakes winners and valuable stallion prospects.
The remaining two entrants in the Robert B. Lewis Stakes are Clock Tower, a graded stakes winner on turf, and Valentines Candy, who appears outclassed after taking eight starts to break his maiden. The race is scheduled as the fourth race on Santa Anita’s Saturday card at approximately 1:30 p.m. PT.
