Celebrating the Route des Etalons 2025: A Look at the Top Thoroughbred Stallions in Normandy

In Normandy, Philippe Gasnier opens the gates of Haras de Bonneval for Route des Etalons 2025, showcasing Siyouni as the French Champion Sire in 2024 and sire of numerous stakes winners. Siyouni’s success includes siring Sottsass, winner of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and Prix du Jockey-Club, and his son St Mark’s Basilica, a World Champion 3YO Sire. Zarak, another successful stallion, produced Classic winners Metropolitan, Haya Zark, and Zagrey last season, with his yearlings selling well.

Vadeni, a Champion 3YO, and Erevann, a Group 2 winning miler, are both entering their second season at stud. Vadeni, a son of Galileo and Monsun, and Erevann, a son of Dubawi, have pedigrees free of Danzig and Saddler’s Wells, respectively. In Ireland, Sea The Stars continues to excel as a leading sire of 3YOs in Europe, with 22 Group 1 winners and a strong record of Stakes winners to runners.

Georges Rimaud recently retired after 25 years managing the French studs, with Pierre Gasnier taking over in Normandy. Gasnier proudly presents Siyouni and other successful stallions at Haras de Bonneval, highlighting their achievements in producing top-quality racehorses. The article emphasizes the success of Siyouni, Zarak, Vadeni, Erevann, and Sea The Stars as prominent sires in the racing industry.
