British Olympic Rider Emma Hindle Retires After Three Decades in the Saddle

British Olympic team rider Emma Hindle has decided to end her career as an international dressage rider after over three decades in the saddle. She is selling her horses, including her top horse Zippo MI. Hindle, born in Preston, Lancashire, began her career in competitive showing and eventing before transitioning to dressage. She trained under Stephen Clarke and Kyra Kyrklund, achieving success at major championships and relocating to Germany to work with Ellen Bontje.

Hindle founded Brookhouse Stud in Germany, standing sires such as Silvano N and Rubioso N. Her career was marked by successes with horses like Wie Weltmeyer and Lancet, representing Great Britain at various European Championships and Olympic Games. After moving back to Britain in 2013, she continued competing internationally with Grand Prix horses Romy del Sol and Diesel S. In 2023, she acquired Zippo MI and made a push to return to the highest levels of the sport.

Despite her recent return to competition, Hindle has decided to end her competitive career due to personal and financial reasons. She expressed her struggle to justify the time, cost, and commitment required for international competition, especially after the passing of her father. Hindle hopes her horses will find new homes where they will be appreciated, and she has put them up for sale on Eurodressage.
