British Equestrian Gemma Stevens Shines in Cavago Six Bar Jumping Class at London International

Gemma Stevens won the Cavago Six Bar jumping class at the Afternoon Performance, where competitors faced a challenging course with six vertical fences that grew taller with each round. Only those who cleared every jump advanced to the next round, with Stevens emerging victorious in the fifth and final round against defending champion John Whitaker.

In the last round, Stevens and her horse Envoy Merelsnest Z faced off against Whitaker and Sharid, with the final fence towering at 1.95m. Stevens, who won team Eventing gold at the 2018 World Equestrian Games, ultimately emerged as the winner. She expressed amazement at her horse’s performance and the incredible atmosphere at the London International event.

Stevens praised her horse for his brilliant performance, noting that while she always knew he could jump a big vertical, putting it all together was the real challenge. She was thrilled with their win and credited the horse for giving his all and trying so hard to clear every jump throughout the competition.
