The Bureau of Land Management will be holding a two-day wild horse and burro adoption event in Seguin, featuring 120 wild horses and burros available for adoption. These animals are considered feral and are typically used for work or as livestock protectors. The adoption process requires a suitable corral and a nominal fee, with a competitive bid option available for those interested in the same animal.
The adoption event will take place on Friday and Saturday, with adoptions occurring from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The adoption process includes a competitive bid at noon on Friday, with animals available on a first come, first serve basis after that. The BLM is also offering an adoption incentive program, providing up to $1,000 to adopt an untrained animal.
Those interested in adopting a wild horse or burro are encouraged to visit the Seguin Events Complex on Friday to view the available animals and begin the adoption process. The BLM website will have photos of the animals available for adoption starting on Thursday.
