The Berks County 4-H horse members were recognized for their participation and achievements in the horse program for 2024. Two 4-H horse clubs and one 4-H horse cloverbud club are currently active in Berks County, catering to youth of different age groups. The members have been busy participating in various programs, contests, and shows to enhance their knowledge about horses.

During the recognition program, a presentation on barn safety and fire prevention was given by Parker Haydt from Lehigh County 4-H. Awards were given out for Hoof Hours, with members like Alexis Giglio, Hannah Laverty, Natalee Fryer, and Kamryn Witman completing a significant number of hours with their horses. Additionally, members participated in events like the PA State 4-H dressage Championship Show and the PA State 4-H Horse Show, with Natalee Fryer placing 3rd in the Senior Landscape category in the PA State 4-H Photography Contest.

Several members also achieved different levels of horsemanship skills, with Hannah Laverty and Jessica Fox reaching Level 2. The Outstanding 4-H Horse Members for the 2024 year were recognized in different divisions, with Alexis Giglio, Sophia Thornhill, Hannah Laverty, and Jessica Fox emerging as champions and reserve champions.
