Austrian Olympian Victoria Max-Theurer has acquired a Lusitano horse named L’Espoir de Massa, a 10-year-old Portuguese Sport Horse bred by Sylvain Massa. The horse was previously trained and competed in France, achieving success at the national level with six consecutive victories and winning the 2024 French Grand Prix Championships in Vierzon.
L’Espoir de Massa was first trained and competed by Renaud Ramadier in 2019 and 2020 before being ridden by former French team rider Pierra Volla at medium tour level. The horse made his national Grand Prix debut in February 2024 and continued to excel in competitions in France, but has not yet competed internationally.
Victoria Max-Theurer, based in Achleiten, Austria, has added L’Espoir de Massa to her string of Grand Prix horses, which also includes Abegglen and Topas. In 2024, she finished 17th in the Kur to Music in Paris with Abegglen. The acquisition of L’Espoir de Massa adds another talented horse to Max-Theurer’s roster as she continues to compete at the highest levels of dressage.
