Animal Facilities and Veterinarians Assist Displaced Animals and Owners Amid California Wildfires

Animal facilities, veterinarians, and rescue organizations have been assisting dogs, horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, and other animals displaced by the ongoing fires in Southern California. The Pasadena Humane Society has taken in over 400 animals since the wildfires began, including a pitbull mix with severe injuries. The organization has entered a new phase of disaster response, focusing on search, rescue, and recovery efforts for animals in the burn zones.

The Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank has taken in around 400 animals, mostly horses, and a few donkeys, that were evacuated due to the fires. Volunteers have been helping to care for the animals, and the center has received donations of food for the animals and humans. Some animals have been stressed by the evacuation, but many have settled into a routine at the center.

The community has come together to support the animals affected by the wildfires, with donations filling five U-Haul trucks. The Pasadena Humane Society and the Los Angeles Equestrian Center are working to provide shelter, care, and support for animals and their owners during this challenging time.
