Alfred State Equestrian Team Earns Reserve High Point Honors in February Show

The Alfred State Western Equestrian team earned Reserve High Point honors in the 2025 season opener, with Ashley Wolfe leading the way with runner-up finishes in Open Horsemanship and Reining in both the morning and afternoon shows. Abigail Hurd and Laura Mills also had strong performances in the morning show, with Hurd winning Open Horsemanship and Mills taking the top spot in Beginner Horsemanship.

In the afternoon show, Abigail Hurd continued her success with a second-place finish in Ranch Riding and third in Open Horsemanship. Mackenzie Grosskopt, Madeline Cassanova, and Hadley Amyot also had strong showings, with Grosskopt finishing second in Rookie A, Cassanova second in Rookie B, and Amyot second in Beginner.

The Pioneers will be competing again on March 1 at the Bromeley-Daggett Equestrian Center, looking to build on their success and continue their strong performances in the Western Equestrian competitions.
