Abbotsford Community Foundation Increases Grant Recipient List for Local Animal Charities

The Abbotsford Community Foundation has distributed $6,000 in animal welfare grants in memory of Mary Victoria Wakefield. This annual grant from the Mary Victoria Wakefield Animal Welfare Fund is given to local animal welfare agencies to support various projects.

This year, six local groups received funding from the Abbotsford Community Foundation, an increase from the five that received grants last year. Recipients include the Abbotsford Police Foundation for retired police service dogs, Paws for Hope Animal Foundation for preventative and urgent vet care, Fraser Valley Humane Society for spaying/neutering cats, Circle F Horse Rescue Society for horse care, and SAINTS Rescue for elderly animal care.

Since 2003, the Mary Victoria Wakefield Animal Welfare Fund has distributed over $150,000 to support local animal welfare groups. More information on the fund can be found on the Abbotsford Community Foundation website.
