A New Era: The Baran Global Hunter Classic – Elevating the Hunter Discipline on the World Stage

The Baran Global Hunter Classic is a new and ambitious three-day hunter competition taking place in the Netherlands in July 2025, with a prize of €300,000. Co-founded by Kristen Baran and Andrew Lustig, the event will feature top riders from various hunter championships and will include junior or amateur riders and international jumper athletes.

The competition will consist of various rounds over three days, with scores based on handiness, pace, track, and brilliance. The event aims to showcase the beauty and finesse of the hunter discipline on a global stage, with a focus on evolving and progressing the sport alongside jumpers. The goal is to potentially turn the event into a series, including North American shows, and more details are expected to be released at the inaugural event.

The entry package for the event is valued at over €100,000 and includes air transport for horses, accommodation for riders and grooms, VIP experiences, and more. Course designer Kevin Holowack has been confirmed for the event, and livestreaming will be available via the Longines Tops International arena channels in Europe and a North American partner. Team announcements are coming soon, and more information and competition details are available on the event’s website.
