2025 Hudson Valley Animal Shelter Fund Grants Awarded to Five Organizations

The Hudson Valley Animal Shelter Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan, recently distributed grants totaling $16,500 to five organizations dedicated to rescuing, sheltering, and defending animals in the Hudson Valley region. Recipients included Arrowhead Ranch Horse Rescue, Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, Helpers With Heart, Dumped & Stray Animal Rescue, and Ark of Grace Animal Sanctuary.

Arrowhead Ranch Horse Rescue received a grant for essential utility improvements, while Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary will use their grant to purchase new surgical equipment. Helpers With Heart will expand their trap, neuter, and vaccine program with the grant, and Dumped & Stray Animal Rescue will support their Trap Neuter Vaccinate Return program. Ark of Grace Animal Sanctuary will use the grant to support its feed pantry for animals in need.

The Hudson Valley Animal Shelter Fund was established in 2015 through a bequest from Jean Rowe and will provide financial assistance to nonprofit animal welfare agencies in the Hudson Valley region in perpetuity. Over $120,000 has been awarded since its inception to support various capital and project expenses for nonprofit animal organizations in the area. Elizabeth Rowley, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to distribute grants and continue Jean Rowe’s commitment to supporting local nonprofits that improve the lives of animals.
